Daily life
On-site essentials
Small routines matter, whether you’re in Southampton for a night or staying a while. The facilities here give you a level of independence most hotels don’t: what you need, where you need it.
Laundry
The shared laundry is open 24 hours a day. There are no schedules and no service windows. Wash, dry and iron on your own time, then head back out to the New Forest or the coast.
The Pantry
Skip the trip to the supermarket and the half-used packets you’d leave behind. The Pantry stocks everyday essentials in sensible quantities, plus enough basics for a meal or two.
Parking
A private on-site car park is available from £13 a night. Add it when you book direct. There are also two EV charging points for guests.
Voi electric scooters
Voi e-scooters are parked just outside the main entrance. Download the Voi app and you’re off.
Families & pets
The whole family is welcome at Second Nature Southampton
Families
Rooms in Southampton have extra floor space, so there’s room for everyone to settle in and use the room as a base for the day.
Travelling with a little one? Cots are free. Just request one when you book.
Southampton works well with kids. Spend the morning at SeaCity Museum or a show at the Mayflower Theatre, then head down to the waterfront for a walk.
Pets
There’s no extra charge for your pet. Just let us know when you book so we can get the room ready.
Dogs: All well-behaved dogs are welcome. For other animals, contact us in advance and we’ll do what we can.
In Winnie’s: dogs are welcome to join you. Keep them on a lead so the space stays calm for everyone.
Party animals: please supervise your pet, keep noise down and be considerate of other guests.
Days out: the New Forest is a short drive away. Hurst Spit near Keyhaven and Hordle Cliff near Milford-on-Sea are both dog-friendly beaches.
Events
Hosting ours and yours
Time together happens naturally here. It might be around a table at Winnie’s, at the bar as the day turns into evening, or at one of our regular events.
For work, the Drawing Room is a flexible space for team meetings or project days. It seats up to 12 and stays quiet enough to get through the agenda.
Our neighbourhood
Between the Mayflower Theatre and the shops and restaurants of Westquay, you’ll find the Southampton we love: medieval walls tucked behind modern streets, maritime haunts in the Old Town and proper pubs where you can lose an afternoon watching the water.
Our local tips cover the places that make the area work: where to get coffee, pick up groceries, work or work out. All within walking distance.
